Hands Along Lake Michigan – Join Hands, Speak Out, Defend Democracy   

THIS SUNDAY  October 5th    noon-3pm  (the Bears and Packers both have a bye week so why not come protest!)

Where:  Pick any zone from the list below.  You do not need to have signed up to attend this event. Pick a zone near you and bring your friends!

All zones have a zone leader identifiable by their yellow Hands Off Kenosha t-shirt and there should be ample parking nearby

What to Bring:

• Protest Signs – any issue (there are too many to count!) but we encourage family friendly signs
• Friends, family, neighbors, anyone who wants to join our peaceful protest
• Water, sunscreen, hats snacks, folding chairs – anything that you need to be comfortable for on the sidewalk/grass

What to Expect:

• The Zone Leader (yellow shirt) will greet you and help you find a spot on the sidewalk/grass.
• You can stay in the same spot the whole time so this is a good protest for folks with limited mobility -bring your walker/wheelchair/folding chair!
• For the more extroverted protesters feel free to shift around so you can chat with different folks.
• We expect this to be a peaceful protest where we DO NOT block street or pedestrian traffic.
• Lots of folks who drive by will happy honk and wave, remember some folks live in situations where they NEED to see others resisting because it isn’t safe for them to do so OR most people in their life approve of all the nonsense so one of the BIG things you are doing is giving hope to folks who drive by.
• Some folks may angry honk or make rude hand gestures.  We encourage you to ignore them,  smile and wave, or do as one of our wise HOK members does and say – “That’s so nice, he think’s I’m #1!”
• The weather should be nice (reminder sun screen is your friend!)
• DO NOT engage with counter protesters or rightwing youtubers – the chance that either will show up at your site is slim but if you see someone alert your Zone Leader and do your best to ignore them.  They want your outrage and reaction, what is true online is true at protests: don’t feed the trolls.
